ScriptX Server is at the heart of ScriptX.Services – it is automatically installed alongside ScriptX.Services for Windows PC and is a ‘manual’ upgrade for ScriptX.Services for On Premise Devices installations.

ScriptX Server 10.3.0 is now released and includes significant bug fixes as well as a very useful new feature enabling the printing of base64 encoded PDF documents.

The bug fixes are for queue management in combination with the PrintHTMLEx() API. The processing queue could become inactive if an error occurred during the printing of a job. Job management is also provided for use by ScriptX.Services.

Printing of base64 encoded PDF documents enables a promptless printing experience for users in a workflow that includes generating base64 encoded PDF documents for display at the browser. Developers now have the choice to either stream a PDF document as a byte data stream to the PrintPDF or BatchPrintPDF APIs or deliver the base64 encoded data as a Data URL.

ScriptX.Services for Windows PC v2.10.0 and for On Premise Devices 2.10.8 or later take advantage of the improvements in this release.

For illustrations, see the PDF Print Samples (ScriptX.Services for Cloud uses this latest release).
